IPL 2019: Watch- Mumbai Indians Fans Wish Kieron Pollard on His 32nd Birthday

Caribbean legend Kieron Pollard proved his worth for the Mumbai Indians yet again as he proved to be the difference in the final of Vivo IPL 12 which saw MI clinch a one-run victory against the Chennai Super Kings at the Rajiv Gandhi International Stadium in Hyderabad. It was his knock of 41 of 25 deliveries which propelled MI to a competitive score of 149 runs in their allotted 20 overs.

He came on to bat with Mumbai Indians in a bit of trouble as they had lost some quick wickets. He started off with a straight six of Imran Tahir which set things rolling for him. He connected a few quite brilliantly and kept MI in the hunt. He shared a good partnership with Hardik Pandya which got MI close to the 150 mark. However, the CSK bowlers bounced back strongly in the final two overs to restrict MI to just 149.

Meanwhile during his match-winning knock, a part of the Hyderabad crowd which had a majority of Mumbai Indians fans tried to reach out to Kieron Pollard on his birthday and was seen singing “Happy Birthday” in unison to show their love for the big man from the Caribbean. He turned 32 yesterday and the victory was the fitting end to yet another edition of the Indian Premier League.

Kieron Pollard’s knock of 41 was studded with 3 fours and 3 hits over the fence. Mumbai Indians needed to bowl out of their skin o harbour hopes of defending the total. Faf du Plessis and Shane Watson got CSK off to a good start. However he MI bowlers made a sensational comeback in the middle overs and ensured they kept chipping away with the wickets.

Jasprit Bumrah bowled a sensational few overs and Rahul Chahar also proved to be a difference as they bagged crucial wickets at important junctures of the game. Lasith Malinga who conceded 20 runs in the 16th over, Rohit Sharma persisted with him in the final over as the Sri Lankan champion fast bowler managed to defend 9 runs in the final over.
