The upcoming season of the Indian Premier League (IPL) might turn out to be an absolute disaster for Chennai Super Kings. With less than a month left before the tournament starts, the Super Kings camp is in a complete mess.

At a time when the other franchises have started their preparations for IPL 2020, Chennai Super Kings are still in quarantine. Their mandatory six-day quarantine was extended to 14 days after 13 members of their contingent including two players – Deepak Chahar and Ruturaj Gaikwad – tested positive for COVID-19.

To make things worse, Suresh Raina sensationally decided to pull out of the competition last week, citing personal reasons. And as if all the setbacks are not enough, the three-time champions could suffer yet another setback with reports suggesting their veteran spinner Harbhajan Singh is contemplating giving IPL 2020 a miss.

According to the reports in Insidesport, Harbhajan Singh is scheduled to fly for Dubai on Tuesday but the COVID-19 cases in the Super Kings camp has left him worried.

“Harbhajan is due to join the team on Tuesday. But the situation with Chennai Super Kings currently, has left him very worried. He may rejig his schedules or even decide to skip the IPL this year,” a source close to the player said.

Harbhajan Singh had also skipped the pre-season camp earlier this month which was held from August 15 to 20. IPL 2020 is scheduled to be played entirely in UAE because of the alarming coronavirus situation in India. The tournament would be played across three formats – Dubai, Abu Dhabi and Sharjah. IPL 2020 is scheduled to start on September 19 while the final is on November 10.
