Kolkata Knight Riders have received a huge boost ahead of their crucial clash against Royal Challengers Bangalore with their star man Andre Russell all set to play the game.

There were doubts over Andre Russell’s participation against RCB after he had injured his knee during the clash against Kings XI Punjab on Sunday. During the second over of the KXIP chase, he was chasing the ball and made a sliding dive in an attempt to stop the ball from crossing the rope. He had failed to stop the boundary before going on to injure himself after crashing into the advertisement board.

The West Indies star was eventually taken off and replaced by Australian Chris Green on the field. The fast-bowling allrounder was seen applying ice to his knee. In the eleventh over of the innings, he returned to the field but did not bowl and exited the field soon, much to the worry of the team-management.

But ahead of the game against RCB, he was seen training with the bat and did not look in any kind of trouble. His presence would be a big boost for KKR who are eyeing their third successive win and fifth of the season.

Here is the clip showing Andre Russell training ahead of the clash:

Andre Russell will be desperate to score big tonight after failing to deliver with the bat so far. In six games so far, he has scored only 55 runs with 24 being the highest score. Last year, he had enjoyed a couple of impressive knocks against RCB and would be eyeing something similar tonight.
