Former India cricketer, Aakash Chopra has given his opinion on the Chennai-Mumbai game which happened on Friday. He compared the match as if it was between an international team and a club team.
Chennai suffered a humiliating loss at the hands of Mumbai Indians. Trent Boult and Jasprit Bumrah had CSK five down inside the powerplay. CSK managed a respectable total courtesy a half-century by Sam Curran. Mumbai openers, Ishan Kishan and Quinton de Kock, chased down the target of 115 in 12.2 overs and handed CSK their first-ever 10 wicket loss in IPL.

It seemed as an international team was playing against a club team: Aakash Chopra
Aakash Chopra has said there were no demons in the pitch as shown by the batting of Kishan and De Kock who demolished the CSK bowlers. The former opener said CSK looked like a club team against an international side as they slumped to Mumbai bowlers and batters. Chopra compared the bowling attack of the two teams, as the MI bowlers choked the CSK top order, while CSK’s bowlers couldn’t even manage to take a single wicket.
On a video uploaded on his YouTube channel, Aakash Chopra said, “If you thought it was a difficult pitch, Ishan Kishan and Quinton de Kock came and demolished the CSK bowlers. The way they batted, it seemed as though an international team was playing against a club team.”
“It was such a huge difference, when Mumbai bowled they didn’t allow CSK to score runs and when they came to bat they didn’t allow CSK to take even a single wicket. So, it was an annihilation and how, domination and how,” he said.

CSK will already be thinking about the big auction: Aakash Chopra
The cricketer turned commentator has said that the tournament is unofficially over for CSK. Although, he would be happy to see MS Dhoni weave magic with the bat for at least once this season, as there is no certainty if Dhoni will play next year or not. Chopra feels CSK will already be thinking about the meg auction expected to be slated next year.
“Chennai Super Kings’ tournament is as good as over technically, tactically, analytically, emotionally and sentimentally. The only hope I have is that I see a good knock from MS Dhoni as we don’t know if he will play the next season or not. Chennai Super Kings will already be thinking about the big auction,” the commentator added.
Chennai will face Bangalore on Sunday after in Dubai. They will be looking to test their bench strength and give chances to the youngsters.
