Chennai Super Kings (CSK) ruled over their nemesis and defending champions Mumbai Indians in the opening match of IPL 2020 on Saturday in Abu Dhabi. It was a complete and professional performance by the three-time champions, who chased a score of 163 despite losing two early wickets. On Saturday, they will face Rajasthan Royals, who will have to field a depleted side.

Chennai Super Kings put on a complete performance on Saturday that ensured a relatively comfortable five-wicket victory over the defending champions. The yellow army has all their bases covered; however, the form of Murali Vijay would be bothersome. Barring that, Chennai should go a long way and end up making the playoffs on this occasion too.

In contrast, Rajasthan Royals have headaches in the form of the unavailability of Jos Buttler and Ben Stokes. While Buttler will not play only in the opening game, there is no news regarding when Stokes will join the squad. Hence, there is pressure on the likes of skipper Steve Smith, Robin Uthappa, and David Miller to carry the batting. Aside from Shreyas Gopal, the inaugural IPL champions do not have an experienced spin-bowling option.

With their all-round squad and a highly experienced line-up, the three-time champions should gain the second victory of the season.
