IPL 2020: List Of All Delhi Capitals Players And Their Salaries

Indian Premier League (IPL) 2020 is all set to hit the floor from 29th March this year. All the teams have finished trading players and are looking to get their hands on the coveted trophy. Delhi Capitals is another such franchise which has not got its hands on silverware till now. They will look to grab their maiden IPL trophy this season.

For the same, Capitals have roped in great players including Ravichandran Ashwin and Ajinkya Rahane. Both the players have had their fair share of experience in the tournament and they have been the leaders of their previous teams too. They wanted a quality foreign batsman as they released Colin Ingram this year.

Here is the full list of Delhi Capitals Players and Their Salaries:

Ajinkya Rahane:

Ajinkya Rahane brings in a lot of experience along with him. He has played a total of 140 games in the tournament so far and has scored close to 4000 runs.

Rahane has represented three different franchises in the IPL so far including Mumbai Indians, Rajasthan Royals, and Rising Pune Supergiants.

In 2018, he was also appointed as Rajasthan’s captain and led them for two consecutive years in the IPL. He has been bought by the Delhi Capitals for Rs. 5.25 Crores.

Alex Carey:

Australia’s wicketkeeper-batsman Alex Carey is ready to rock and roll in his maiden IPL stint.

He has been a great performer in the Big Bash League. Batting lower down the order, Carey proves to be an explosive power hitter of the ball.

Interestingly, he has also represented the Kangaroos in Football too. This goes on to show how complete an athlete Carey is? Delhi Capitals have bought him for Rs. 2.40 Crores.

Amit Mishra:

The veteran leg-break spinner has been retained by the Delhi Capitals for Rs. 4 Crore. Mishra is a legend of the tournament and is one of the most capped players in the competition.

The senior bowler has clinched over 150 wickets in the competition and seems to get better with age.

He made his IPL debut with the Delhi Daredevils in 2008 and clinched a hat-trick in the maiden season itself.

Avesh Khan:

Avesh Khan made his IPL debut in 2017 with the Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB). He was bought by the Delhi Daredevils (now Delhi Capitals) in 2018 for Rs. 75 lakh.

However, he is yet to prove his might in the competition. He has played only eight IPL games so far and has clinched five wickets in the process.

Avesh has been retained by the Delhi Capitals for Rs. 70 lakh.

Axar Patel:

The all-rounder has been retained by Delhi Capitals this year for Rs. 5 Crores. He has had a fair share of experience in the IPL. He was rightly named the ‘Emerging Player of the Year’ for IPL 2014 for his performances in 2014 with the Kings XI Punjab.

He was the only bowler in the 2016 season to claim a hat-trick. He can also bat lower down the order and contribute some crucial runs for the team.

Chris Woakes:

Woakes had an amazing IPL debut season with the Kolkata Knight Riders in 2017. In 2018, he became RCB’s biggest signing of the season.

The English all-rounder is equally great with the bat and the ball. He has clinched 25 wickets with the ball in the competition in the 18 games that he has played. Delhi Capitals bought him for Rs. 1.50 Crore.

Harshal Patel:

Harshal Patel made his IPL debut in 2012 with the Royal Challengers Bangalore.

In 2018, Patel was bought by the Delhi Daredevils. The Delhi based franchise has retained him for this season for Rs. 20 Lakh.

Harshal is a regular wicket-taker but the problem with him has been his economy.

Although he has not made a great impact anytime during his seven years in the competition but has done just enough to be in the squad season after season.

Ishant Sharma:

India’s tall fast-paced bowler has been retained by the Capitals for this year’s IPL. He has been retained for Rs. 1.10 Crore. He was first bought by the Delhi Capitals for the 2019 season and has been retained for the first time.

The lanky pacer is one of the most experienced lads in the squad and has played close to 90 games. He has clinched 71 wickets in these games which includes a five-for.

Jason Roy:

It was a bizarre decision to include Jason Roy in the squad. Delhi Capitals already had three opening batsmen including Shikhar Dhawan, Ajinkya Rahane, and Prithvi Shaw.

The English opener’s inclusion in the squad was thus questioned. Jason Roy has had a very short IPL experience so far. He made his IPL debut with the Gujarat Lions in 2017.

In 2018, he was bought by Delhi Daredevils but he pulled out of the tournament in 2019 due to World Cup preparations. He has been bought this season by the Delhi Capitals for Rs. 1.50 Crore.

Kagiso Rabada:

South Africa’s pace spearhead Kagiso Rabada has been retained by the Delhi Capitals this season.

Since the inception of his career in the IPL, Rabada has been with the Delhi Capitals franchise. He was first bought by them in 2017 for Rs. 5 Crore and has been retained by them since then.

He has clinched 31 wickets in the competition in the 18 games he has played so far. He has been retained this season for Rs. 4.20 Crores.

The West Indian all-rounder participated in his maiden IPL season last year for the Delhi Capitals.

In 2019, he was named the T20 player of the year by the West Indies Cricket Board (WICB). In the December 2019 auction, he was retained by the Delhi Capitals for Rs. 50 lakh.

In the eight games played so far, he has clinched nine wickets in total and has a bright potential ahead.

Lalit Yadav:

Lalit Yadav will participate in his maiden IPL this year. The explosive opener belongs to Najafgarh, the place where legendary Indian opener Virender Sehwag belonged to.

Yadav is quite an aggressive batsman and has hit six sixes in an over twice in List A cricket. He has been bought by Delhi Capitals for Rs. 20 Lakh.

Marcus Stoinis:

Australian all-rounder Marcus Stoinis provides a balance to any team that he plays for. He is amazing with the bat and the ball and is a limited-over star.

Stoinis made his IPL debut in the year 2016 with Kings XI Punjab. He was bought in 2018 auction by Royal Challengers Bangalore.

He has scored 473 runs with the bat and clinched 15 wickets in the 29 games he has played so far. He earns Rs 4.8 crores.

Mohit Sharma:

Mohit made his IPL debut in 2013 with Chennai Super Kings. In the maiden season, he clinched 23 wickets in the 15 games he played. CSK’s ban for two seasons led him to associate with Kings XI Punjab.

Mohit was reunited with CSK in the 2019 edition. He has been bought by DC this season for Rs. 50 Lakh and could be one of the key players for DC in the title race.

Prithvi Shaw:

Prithvi Shaw has been retained by DC this season for Rs. 1.20 Crore. Shaw is a young Indian opener who has done well in first-class cricket.

His maiden ODI call for team India in the ongoing India-New Zealand series will be a great chance for himself to prove his worth.

Shaw has scored 598 runs in the tournament so far in the 25 games he has played.

R Ashwin:

R Ashwin has been bought by the Delhi Capitals from Kings XI Punjab for Rs. 7.60 Crores. Ashwin is one of the most experienced players of the lot.

He made his IPL debut with Chennai Super Kings in 2009. After Chennai Super Kings was banned for the 2016 and 2017 season, he was drafted to Rising Pune Supergiants.

In the 2016 season, Ashwin picked up his 100th wicket in the competition.

Ashwin was bought by Kings XI Punjab in the 2018 IPL Auction for 7.6 crores. He led the Kings XI Punjab in the 2019 season.

Rishabh Pant:

Indian wicketkeeper-batsman Rishabh Pant has been in the news since Dhoni’s departure from team India last year. He has been given multiple chances in the Indian team but the young lad has failed to prove his might.

Nowadays, he is warming the bench and looking for a chance to make a comeback in the national side.

Delhi Capitals have retained him for a whopping Rs. 15 Crore and this year’s IPL might just be crucial enough for him to prove his worth and make a comeback in the senior national side.

Sandip Lamichhane:

Sandip Lamichhane is the young lad on whom everyone would be focussed. Representing Nepal in international cricket, the leg-spinner is a national hero.

He made his IPL debut in 2018 for Delhi Daredevils becoming the first Nepali player to play in the IPL.

Lamichhane has been retained by Delhi Capitals for Rs. 20 Lakh this season.

Shikhar Dhawan:

India’s regular opener Shikhar Dhawan has been retained by the Delhi Capitals this season for Rs. 5.20 Crore.

Dhawan has been one of Team India’s greatest assets in recent years. Dhawan brings in a lot of experience in the DC squad.

The southpaw has been one of the most capped players in the tournament and has scored more than 4500 runs in the competition.

He will be one of Delhi’s most important players in this year’s IPL.

Shimron Hetmyer:

The West Indies batsman has been at his absolute best playing in the sub-continent with his national side. He is a perfect modern-day cricketer as he excels in all the aspects of the game.

He made his IPL debut with the Royal Challengers Bangalore in 2019 and is ready to take on the field in 2020 with a new franchise.

In 2019, he scored 75 runs in the five innings he played and Delhi Capitals have bought him for Rs. 7.75 Crores.

Shreyas Iyer:

India’s new number four has had a good few days in recent times. He scored his maiden ODI hundred in the first game against New Zealand and has booked a permanent seat in the team.

Last year, he led Delhi Capitals in the IPL and had a great season as the skipper of a young side.

He has been retained by the Delhi Capitals for Rs. 7 Crore for this year’s IPL.

Tushar Deshpande:

Tushar Deshpande is another young Indian fast bowler in the making. He hits amazing speeds with the ball and is a lethal weapon for any side.

It will be his maiden IPL season this year. Delhi Capitals are known for breeding young players and Tushar could just be one of them.

He has been bought by them for Rs. 20 Lakh in this year’s IPL auction.
