Mumbai Indians will enter their sixth final in the history of final when they face the Delhi Capitals in Dubai on Tuesday. The defending champions will start as firm favourites not only because of their rich history but also the fact they have beat the Capitals thrice in the current edition. Their critical players are all in golden touch to push for a record fifth title.
Nevertheless, the four-time champions would be wary of taking their opponents lightly. Delhi Capitals have not only a big-match player in Shikhar Dhawan, the highest wicket-taker in the tournament but also a gun all-rounder at the peak of his powers. And being in their first IPL final, Shreyas Iyer’s men will leave no stone unturned in going for the title.
We take a look at Mumbai Indians’ predicted XI ahead of the IPL 2020 final:
Rohit Sharma (c):

Ravichandran Ashwin claimed Rohit Sharma’s wicket for a first-ball duck in the first qualifier in Dubai. Rohit Sharma has had an ordinary tournament so fair and would be keen to score big runs in the final to get in the form ahead of Australia tour. In 11 matches, the 33-year old has only 264 runs at 24.00.
Quinton De Kock (wk):
Suryakumar Yadav:

Suryakumar Yadav has been one of the brightest spots in the current edition of IPL, having the penchant for consistent run-scoring and impactful knocks. In 15 games, Yadav has 461 runs with four half-centuries at a compelling average of 41.91 and a strike rate of 148.23. The 30-year old’s ability to soak in the pressure would be very critical in the big final.
Ishan Kishan:
Kieron Pollard:

Kieron Pollard experienced a rare failure in the first qualifier against Delhi Capitals in Dubai as he got dismissed for a duck while going for the big shot. Nevertheless, Kieron Pollard got a massive wicket of Axar Patel, who played a useful knock of 42 to get the Capitals closer to the target. He finished with figures of 4-0-36-1.
Krunal Pandya:

Krunal Pandya delivered an economical spell of 4-0-22-1 in the first qualifier as he plucked the wicket of Rishabh Pant to push the Mumbai Indians towards the final. With the bat, he mustered 13 off ten balls as it played a tiny part in lifting his side to an imposing total.
Hardik Pandya:

Hardik Pandya helped Mumbai Indians finish strongly as he smashed five sixes against the likes of Kagiso Rabada and Anrich Nortje in a knock of 37 from 14 balls. Pandya was at his brutal best in Mumbai Indians’ crucial game as he added 60 with Ishan Kishan, batting the Capitals out of the game.
Nathan Coulter-Nile:

Nathan Coulter-Nile replaced James Pattinson and might not have ended up with a wicket; however, was economical in the qualifier. The Australian seamer conceded only 27 runs in four overs, leaking only three boundaries in the process. However, he needs to be amongst the wickets in the final.
Trent Boult:

Trent Boult could deliver only two overs against the Delhi Capitals in the qualifier; however, took two wickets, finishing with figures of 2-1-9-2, dismissing Shikhar Dhawan and Ajinkya Rahane. Due to an injury, he could not bowl the remaining two; however, is expected to be fit for the final.
Rahul Chahar:

Rahul Chahar did not have a night to remember in the qualifier against the Delhi Capitals as he went for 35 runs in two overs without any wickets. Marcus Stoinis, who took him to the cleaners in the qualifier, would look to target the leg-spinner and Chahar has to hold his nerves in the big game.
