Mumbai Indians will enter their sixth final in the history of final when they face the Delhi Capitals in Dubai on Tuesday. The defending champions will start as firm favourites not only because of their rich history but also the fact they have beat the Capitals thrice in the current edition. Their critical players are all in golden touch to push for a record fifth title.

Nevertheless, the four-time champions would be wary of taking their opponents lightly. Delhi Capitals have not only a big-match player in Shikhar Dhawan, the highest wicket-taker in the tournament but also a gun all-rounder at the peak of his powers. And being in their first IPL final, Shreyas Iyer’s men will leave no stone unturned in going for the title.

We take a look at Mumbai Indians’ predicted XI ahead of the IPL 2020 final:

Ravichandran Ashwin claimed Rohit Sharma’s wicket for a first-ball duck in the first qualifier in Dubai. Rohit Sharma has had an ordinary tournament so fair and would be keen to score big runs in the final to get in the form ahead of Australia tour. In 11 matches, the 33-year old has only 264 runs at 24.00.

Ishan Kishan was one of the half-centurions in the first qualifier against Delhi Capitals and swung the match into Mumbai Indians’ favour from a tricky position. Ishan Kishan added an unbeaten 60 off only 23 balls to lift the defending champions to 190 in the qualifier. The southpaw has 483 runs in 13 games at 53.67 with a strike rate of 144.

Krunal Pandya delivered an economical spell of 4-0-22-1 in the first qualifier as he plucked the wicket of Rishabh Pant to push the Mumbai Indians towards the final. With the bat, he mustered 13 off ten balls as it played a tiny part in lifting his side to an imposing total.

Nathan Coulter-Nile:

Nathan Coulter-Nile replaced James Pattinson and might not have ended up with a wicket; however, was economical in the qualifier. The Australian seamer conceded only 27 runs in four overs, leaking only three boundaries in the process. However, he needs to be amongst the wickets in the final.

Trent Boult:

Trent Boult could deliver only two overs against the Delhi Capitals in the qualifier; however, took two wickets, finishing with figures of 2-1-9-2, dismissing Shikhar Dhawan and Ajinkya Rahane. Due to an injury, he could not bowl the remaining two; however, is expected to be fit for the final.

Rahul Chahar:

Rahul Chahar did not have a night to remember in the qualifier against the Delhi Capitals as he went for 35 runs in two overs without any wickets. Marcus Stoinis, who took him to the cleaners in the qualifier, would look to target the leg-spinner and Chahar has to hold his nerves in the big game.

Jasprit Bumrah:

Jasprit Bumrah earned the man of the match award in the first qualifier as he picked up four wickets for only 14 runs in Dubai. Jasprit Bumrah hit the top gear, catapulting Mumbai Indians in the final and the four-time champions would need him once again to wield his magic. Bumrah, who has 27 wickets, will also aim to bowl well enough to snatch the purple cap from Kagiso Rabada, who has 29 at present.
