Kamlesh Nagarkoti might have suffered some big setbacks in his career already but it has not stopped the youngster from aiming big. Ahead of this year’s Indian Premier League (IPL), the highly-rated fast-bowler has said he wants to become India’s fastest bowler.

After starring in the 2018 U19 World Cup, Kamlesh Nagarkoti was ready to take the country by storm in the IPL. However, he missed the entire season in 2018 due to an injury. And as if that was not enough, he missed the entire season last year too. But the youngster is now all set to make his debut in IPL for Kolkata Knight Riders and he is aiming big.

“Yes, I want to become India’s fastest bowler because I know it is difficult to reach those heights so if you are regularly working on it and if it is your dream then you have to work hard that way. You need to work on your routine. So I am working hard and yes I want to become India’s fastest bowler,” Kamlesh Nagarkoti told kkr.in.

Advice from Rahul Dravid:

Kamlesh Nagarkoti also revealed the advice he received from legendary batsman and his former India U19 coach Rahul Dravid. He recalled how the words from the former India captain motivated him and boosted his confidence while he was going through the injury hell.

“Dravid sir came to me and told me,’I understand how you are feeling but please take things positively. Pat Cummins did not play for 3-4 years either, but look now he is the best bowler in the world. So always stay positive and think about what you can do in your life. So always learn from your mistakes and make a strong comeback,'” Kamlesh Nagarkoti said.

The 20-year old will be desperate to make up for the lost time when he gets the chance in the upcoming edition of IPL. The thirteenth edition of the league is scheduled to start on September 19 and end on November 10 although the full schedule is not out yet.
