Former India batsman Yuvraj Singh has lavished praise on Pat Cummins after the latter bounced back in style in the ongoing IPL 2020. The Australia star,, who is currently ranked the No.1 Test bowler, was brought by Kolkata Knight Riders for a whopping Rs 15.5 crore at the IPL player auctions last December.

In the process, he became not only the costliest player of the previous auction but also the most expensive overseas player in IPL history. However, he had a debut to forget in IPL 2020 as Mumbai Indians batsmen took him to the cleaners. The right-arm pacer struggled with his line and length. Such was his performance that he could not even complete his quota of four overs.

He conceded 49 runs from just three overs without picking up any wicket. In his very first over of the season, Rohit Sharma hit him for two big sixes as he conceded 15. Captain Dinesh Karthik removed him from the attack straightaway and brought him back in the 15th over but it didn’t change his fortunes.

This time Saurabh Tiwary hit him for a four and a six as he went for 15 runs again. And his third over was even worse as he ended up conceding 19 runs to cap off a poor start with the ball in IPL 2020. Hardik Pandya hit him for two fours and a six while he also conceded two wides.

Strong comeback:

On Saturday, Pat Cummins bounced back in style and showed why the Knight Riders paid such a big amount for him. In his first three overs, he conceded only 11 runs while dismissing the dangerous Jonny Bairstow. He bowled all his three overs in the powerplay and conceded just one 4.

And as Pat Cummins made a strong comeback, Yuvraj Singh wasted no time in praising him. The batting legend took to Twitter to laud him and also urged the youngsters to learn from him, tweeting:

“Great come back by @patcummins30! I think great learning for young fast bowlers after getting hit in first game how quickly he has corrected his lengths and created pressure on srh batsman ! Hallmark of a quality bowler.”
