Mumbai Indians (MI) fast bowler, Jasprit Bumrah registers another bowling record to his name. His tally of 27 wickets in IPL 2020 is the most for an Indian bowler in a single IPL season.

Mumbai Indians bulldozed Delhi Capitals in Qualifier 1 on Thursday. On the back of Suryakumar Yadav and Ishan Kishan’s half-centuries, and a late assault by Hardik Pandya, MI posted a gigantic total of 200/5.

Bumrah took his 27th wicket of the season in Qualifier against Delhi. He surpassed Bhuvneshwar Kumar’s tally of 26 wickets from 2017 and became the Indian with most scalps in a single IPL season.

The MI pacer also took the purple cap from Kagiso Rabada, who is now two wickets behind Bumrah. Rabada went wicketless against MI but will have another chance to grab the purple cap back in the eliminator on Sunday.

After the match, the 26-year-old said that he isn’t thinking about individual awards like the purple cap or the player of the match. Bumrah said he is happy as long as the team is winning.

In the post-match presentation, Jasprit Bumrah said, “I don’t worry about awards. As long as the team is winning I am happy.”

Mumbai Indians stormed into their second consecutive final and will meet the winner of Qualifier 2 on Tuesday in Abu Dhabi. Meanwhile, Delhi will have another chance to enter the final, as they face the winner of the Eliminator between Bangalore and Hyderabad.
