Rajasthan Royals pacer Jofra Archer has been in sensational form in IPL so far. Before landing in UAE for the ongoing competition, he was facing criticism from several quarters for his pace. The Barbados-born did struggle to hit his top form in England colours but he has been in sensational form for the Royals.
The right-arm pacer has troubled the batsmen with his pace. In Royals’ first game, which was against Chennai Super Kings, a total of 416 runs were scored but Jofra Archer managed to concede only 26 runs off his four overs while dismissing Faf du Plessis.
In the following game, he had a poor outing as he went for 46 runs but there was very little he could do on the flat pitch and the shorter boundaries of Sharjah. But the right-arm pacer proved his class again in the third game against Kolkata Knight Riders, conceding only 18 runs while picking up two wickets.
And nothing shows his red-hot form better than the fact that he has bowled 9 of the ten fastest deliveries of IPL 2020 so far. It is indeed a remarkable feat given that the the likes of Kagiso Rabada, Pat Cummins, Jasprit Bumrah are also featuring in the ongoing competition.
The fastest delivery bowled by him so far is 152.13 kmph. The only other bowler who has managed to get a mention in the top ten is South Africa’s Anrich Nortje. The Delhi Capitals pacer has bowled the eighth fastest delivery in the competition so far.
Not only that, Jofra Archer has also impressed with the bat. The England World Cup-winner has so far hit 6 sixes in death overs, helping Royals win their first two games of the season before they lost to Knight Riders on Wednesday.
