Defending champions Mumbai Indians will be looking to get back to winning ways when they take on beleaguered Chennai Super Kings in the 41st match of the ongoing Indian Premier League (IPL) 2020.

Usually when these two teams meet at this stage, they fight for the top spots in the table but the situation in the ongoing competition is very different. While Mumbai Indians will fight for the top spot, struggling Chennai Super Kings will be fighting for survival.

With 6 wins from 9 games, Mumbai Indians are looking set to progress to the next round. A win tonight will all but seal their playoff berth. The Rohit Sharma-led side will also be looking to return to winning ways after losing to Kings XI Punjab in their previous outing.

Chennai Super Kings, on the other hand, are in danger of bowing out at the league stage for the first time in the history of the competition. With just three wins from 10 games, their chances of making it to the playoffs are very slim.

They haven’t officially been knocked out of the tournament, and could still change the complexion of the playoffs race with favourable results in the last four games and would be looking to earn a much-needed win tonight.
