SunRisers Hyderabad recorded a resounding eight-wicket victory to remain in contention for the IPL 2020 playoffs. Despite the failure of their two overseas batsmen, SunRisers Hyderabad won the game on the back of two half-centuries from Vijay Shankar and Manish Pandey, leading their side to a crushing win. They chased 155 successfully with more than an over to spare.

SunRisers Hyderabad elected to bowl first, making two changes to their side while Rajasthan Royals remained unchanged from their win against Chennai Super Kings. Sanju Samson top-scored with 36; however, none of the other batsmen could get going as David Warner managed his bowlers quite well. Jofra Archer and Riyan Parag provided the final flourish.

In reply, SunRisers Hyderabad got off to a horror start, losing David Warner and Jonny Bairstow for only 16 on the board. However, the Royals’ bowlers let Manish Pandey and Vijay Shankar off the leash by bowling several freebies and Kartik Tyagi proved the most expensive of the lost with 42 off 3.4 overs. Vijay Shankar and Manish Pandey combined for a stand of 140 to take the SunRisers Hyderabad with 13 balls to spare.
