Jaydev Unadkat will continue to play for Rajasthan Royals in the IPL after being re-signed by the franchise in the ongoing auction. But unlike the previous two seasons, Jaydev Unadkat could not really hit the jackpot as Royals managed to re-sign him for INR 3 crore after the bowler registered himself at the base price of INR 1 crore.

Delhi Capitals and Kings XI Punjab also showed interest in the left-arm pacer before Rajasthan Royals signed him up. Unadkat will be keen to make things fall in place in the IPL next year after two poor seasons.

Things were finally falling in place for Jaydev Unadkat when he enjoyed a breakthrough season in the Indian Premier League (IPL) in 2017. He was one of the main reasons behind Rising Pune Supergiant’s stunning march to the final of the competition. The Saurashtra star took 24 wickets in just 12 games at 13.41 including a five-wicket haul and was behind only Bhuvneshwar Kumar in the list of this year’s highest wicket-taker.

The impressive outings saw him getting a recall from the national team for the T20 series against Sri Lanka. He then became the most expensive Indian player in the 2018 IPL auction after being bought by INR 11.5 crore by Rajasthan Royals. But things did not really pan out in an expected manner after that. He failed to do well in the IPL as he picked up just 11 wickets in 15 games.

But he became the most expensive player in the next auction too and failed to justify the huge price tag once again. In the last IPL, the left-arm pacer managed just 10 wickets from 11 games as Rajasthan Royals failed to make it past the league stage.

But just few days before the start of the auction, he proved his worth once again with a solid bowling display in the Ranji Trophy. He picked up nine wickets including a six-wicket haul in the second innings during the match against Himachal Pradesh.
