Delhi Capitals ace Ravichandran Ashwin has given a promising update on his shoulder injury. The off-spinner has not played a game since injuring his shoulder on September 20 during his team’s tournament-opener against Kings XI Punjab.

Ravichandran Ashwin had injured his shoulder while going for a dive on the last ball of his first over. He was seen grimacing in pain while holding his left shoulder. He did not take any risk and walked off the field straightaway and did not come back for the rest of the game.

At that time, it looked like he had dislocated his shoulder. The India star was also seen with his left arm in a sling, as commentators spoke of a possible dislocated shoulder. However, he had come out for the presentation ceremony without the sling.

Later, scans cleared him of any serious injury. But the team-management did not take any risk and rested him for the games against Chennai Super Kings and Sunrisers Hyderabad. He, however, looks set to take the field quickly. The India star recently gave an update on his shoulder and said that he be on the field ‘very soon.

“Shoulder is not bad. Just getting over it. I’ll be on the field very soon,” Ravichandran Ashwin said in a video on his YouTube channel. The video was published on Thursday (October 1).

Ravichandran Ashwin will be desperate to take the field especially after the way he bowled in his only over in IPL 2020 so far. In just one over he dismissed Karun Nair and Nicholas Pooran before injuring his shoulder.

As far as Delhi Capitals are concerned, they have made a good start to their season. They started their campaign with wins over Kings XI Punjab and Chennai Super Kings before losing to Sunrisers Hyderabad on Tuesday (September 29). Their next game is against Kolkata Knight Riders on Saturday.
