Kings XI Punjab co-owner, Preity Zinta took to Twitter to thank the fans for their unconditional love and support throughout the IPL 2020. In an emotional tweet, Zinta also assured fans that the team will bounce back next season.

Punjab’s season came to an end on Sunday as they lost a must-win encounter against Chennai Super Kings. Punjab after losing six out of their first seven matches revived their tournament by winning five games on a trot. However, the players ran out of gas in the last two games as the team finished on the sixth spot in the points table.

A shorter run than what we hoped for: Preity Zinta

Preity Zinta, who was always seen cheering from the stands, took to Twitter to acknowledge the support of the fans on social media, as there was no crowd and thanked them for sticking by the team in wins and losses. She assured the fans that the team will come back bigger, better, and stronger next season.

The Bollywood diva wrote that it was a shorter run in the tournament than they would have hoped for in a season where Punjab gave several mini heart attacks to the fans with nail-biting thrillers.

Preity Zinta wrote on Twitter, “Time to say goodbye to #IPL & Dubai. Not the season we hoped for but we will come back bigger, better & stronger So many thrills, heart attacks, highs, lows & memorable moments. It’s been a shorter run than what we hoped for”

Zinta continued, “But I wanna thank all the fans of @lionsdenkxip for standing by us & supporting us through thick n thin Thank you for being so awesome. You guys are the wind beneath our wings #Goodbye #Ipl2020 #Dream11IPL #Saddapunjab #ting”

The KL-Rahul led side had a season to remember as the team individually and collectively. Punjab lost a few close games and couldn’t grasp the important nervy moments which is the main reason for the side failing to go through to the playoff.

KL Rahul, Mayank Agarwal, Chris Gayle, Nicholas Pooran, and Mohammed Shami were their standout performers. Youngsters like Ravi Bishnoi and Arshdeep Singh were impressive in the bowling department. It is the sixth consecutive season where KXIP couldn’t make it to the playoffs- the last time they finished in the top four was in 2014.
