IPL 2020: Will Ishan Porel Get A Chance This Season? KL Rahul Answers

Kings XI Punjab KL Rahul has insisted Ishan Porel will get a game in the ongoing IPL 2020. KXIP team-management’s decision of not giving a chance to the young Bengal pacer so far is really surprising considering the poor performance from their fast-bowlers in the death overs.
Before the start of the ongoing season, Ishan Porel was being seen as one of the youngsters to watch out for after the way he performed in the last Ranji Trophy season. Ishan Porel, who was part of the Under-19 World Cup-winning team in 2018, was expected to get regular chances after increasing his pace to 140kph and his experience of bowling in Indian conditions.

Earlier this year, he helped Bengal reach the 2019-20 Ranji Trophy final. He was part of the India A team that toured New Zealand in January 2020 and took eight wickets in three games.
And as the 22-year old waits eagerly to make his IPL debut, KL Rahul, on Thursday, said that he would get a game ‘at some point’. The KXIP skipper was all praise for the pacer, saying that the latter has been bowling well in the nets.
“He’s been very, very good. He is bowling really well in the nets. I have been impressed with how he’s bowling and he’s had a great first-class season as well,” Rahul said after KXIP’s loss to Sunrisers Hyderabad.
“Some exciting guys in the lineup and one of them being Ishan. At some point, he will get a game,” he added.
