IPL 2022: Chennai Super Kings Fast Bowler Adam Milne Ruled Out Of The Tournament, Replacement Announced

Chennai Super Kings (CSK) pacer Adam Milne has been ruled out of the ongoing IPL 2022 and the franchise has named the replacement for New Zealander as well. Milne played just one match for the Chennai team in the ongoing Indian Premier League and was then sidelined with a hamstring injury.

The Chennai Super Kings have struggled to get going in the IPL 2022 and have won only one game so far in six matches played. The franchise had already made a huge change ahead of the season as Ravindra Jadeja replaced MS Dhoni as the captain of the CSK team. Even before that CSK had lost the services of their lead pacer Deepak Chahar.

Chahar had suffered a quad tear during the West Indies T20I series at home and had been in NCA recovering that injury. However, during his rehab, Chahar injured his back and has been advised to rest for up to six weeks, before he can begin rehabbing for that injury, putting him out of action for more than three months.

Matheesha Pathirana Replaces Adam Milne In The Chennai Super Kings Franchise For IPL 2022

The Chennai Super Kings (CSK) have decided to replenish their dwindling fast bowling resources and have included Sri Lanka’s Matheesha Pathirana as a replacement for Adam Milne for the remainder of the IPL 2022.

Matheesha Pathirana was part of Sri Lanka’s squad for the 2020 Under-19 Cricket World Cup and is known for having a slingy bowling action that is reminiscent of bowling legend Lasith Malinga. He was also named in the Sri Lanka squad for the U19 World Cup in West Indies in 2022.
