Gujarat Titans (GT) captain Hardik Pandya showed his angry mood in his team’s loss to Sunrisers Hyderabad (SRH) the last night as he was visibly irritated at senior pacer Mohammad Shami and even shouted at him as he didn’t try to go for a catch offered by Rahul Tripathi during the crunch moment of the match.
Sunrisers Hyderabad broke the unbeaten streak of the GT team as they registered their second straight win of the season by 8 wickets and Hardik Pandya was visibly unhappy with his players faulting during the SRH batting.
Gujarat Titans had batted first after SRH captain Kane Williamson won the toss and put on 162/7 in 20 overs with Hardik Pandya scoring an unbeaten 50 with 4 fours and 1 six. T Natarajan and Bhuvneshwar Kumar picked two wickets each for the Sunrisers.
Hardik Pandya Shouts In Irritation At Mohammad Shami After He Lets Go Of Rahul Tripathi’s Catch
As Gujarat Titans headed towards their first defeat in the IPL 2022, Hardik Pandya was getting visibly frustrated at his fielders, much like he did with David Miller in their previous game of the tournament. This time it was pacer Mohammad Shami who bore the wrath of Pandya’s irritation.
The incident happened in the 13th over which was bowled by Hardik Pandya himself and Kane Williamson slammed him for two sixes back-to-back. Pandya then had the chance to get rid of the SRH batsman Rahul Tripathi, when he tried an uppercut that seemed to be flying towards the deep third man.
Mohammad Shami at the position chose to not go for the catch and instead stayed where he was and even moved back a couple of steps to collect the ball on the bounce. This didn’t sit down well with Hardik Pandya, who was visibly unhappy with Shami, as replays showed him shouting at the senior pacer after the fielding effort.
