IPL: Anil Kumble Likely to Don Head Coach's Hat for Delhi Daredevils

Perhaps, Anil Kumble has been one of the few individuals in the Indian cricket who acquired fans as a head coach as well. He has been the inspiration for many youngsters during his playing days, and now, he is doing the same as an individual. Meanwhile, Indian Premier League (IPL) franchise Delhi Daredevils (DD) is in talks with him for the role of chief coach.

Despite Board of Control for Cricket in India terminating his contract, the fans always are in love with his coaching role. He helped the team to achieve success under his watchful eyes, but the rift with the Indian skipper Virat Kohli saw the other side of the things for him.

Meanwhile, the former Indian skipper Kumble might return to the coaching panel. However, it will be in the most followed lucrative professional domestic Twenty20 league.

Daredevils fared pretty poorly in the eleventh edition of the IPL. Meanwhile, they are set to make some significant change for the upcoming version.

Recently, the CEO of the team, Hemant Dua also tendered his resignation.

The franchise is currently running by Kiran Kumar Grandhi’s GMR and the Jindals’ JSW Group, who are in talks with Kumble for the upcoming edition of IPL. They already got the services of Australian veteran Ricky Ponting as well.

“We’ve touched base with him. The talks are on. If we are able to convince him, it would be great,” Parth Jindal told the Pune Mirror.

Sourav Ganguly, to involve?

It is furtherly came to known that Sourav Ganguly might speak with Kumble regarding the role on behalf of Daredevils in the background.

In a case of Kumble signing the deal, he will accompany Ricky Ponting.

The reports suggested that Delhi Daredevils had already signed Ricky Ponting as the head coach. Anil Kumble and Ponting already worked together for Mumbai Indians (MI) previously in the IPL.
