The CEO of Delhi Daredevils in the IPL, Hemant Dua is set to step down from his position on September 1st.

He has been the part of the Delhi Daredevils troop for the past six years and tried his best to bring home the trophy, but it eventually didn’t happen.

Delhi Daredevils has been underperforming in the Indian Premier League for a long time now. Despite making the helluva of the changes, the franchise never got the results going in their way. Perhaps, it played a role in his ouster.

It has been a roller-coaster ride for past six years with Delhi Daredevils – Hemant Dua

Announcing his resignation from the Delhi Daredevils setup, Hemant Dua quoted he is privileged to work with greatest players of the game. Hemant also thanked for letting him be the part of their journey so far.

Meanwhile, the owners said he would serve on the board of the JSW GMR Cricket Private Limited as a Non-Executive Director. However, he started his journey with the Delhi Daredevils from the year 2013.

“DD has been a part of my journey for some time now. The franchise is close to my heart and thus, I will always be available for the betterment of the franchise. I wish DD and it’s new management the very best in its endeavour to bring the trophy to our own city of Delhi,” Hemant Dua said in a release on Tuesday.

He followed it by a tweet who0 wrote saying I am stepping down as CEO of Delhi Daredevils. It’s been a rollercoaster ride past 6 years. Privileged working with best players, coaches& colleagues. Love of fans priceless. Only remorse could not bring the IPL trophy to  Delhi. I wish new management all the best #DilDilli.”

Performance under Hemant Dua:

Unfortunately, Hemant Dua doesn’t get the privilege of enjoying Delhi Daredevils’ success. They brought experts of the game in their dugout, still, they found it difficult to attain the victory.

DD finished last in the league in 2013 and 2014, seventh in 2014, sixth in 2016 and 2017 and most recently last in the 2018 edition as well. Under the tenure of Hemant Dua, they made few waste purchases of Pawan Negi for INR 8.5 crores and INR 9 crores for Glenn Maxwell to name a few.
