IPL 2019 Auction: Kings XI Punjab Ropes in Sam Curran for INR 7.20 Crores

The 20-year Sam Curran was always going to be the centre of attraction in the IPL Auctions. The prodigy southpaw player was roped in by Kings XI Punjab for a whopping price of INR 7.20 Crores. The England all-rounder had impressed with his compact technique in the series against India.
Sam had batted at the top of the game in the five-match series against India. In fact, he was a major difference between the two sides. Furthermore, Sam has the ability to swing the ball both ways. He is also accurate with his bowling and he is generally right on the money with his bowling.

Moreover, Sam Curran had carried his sublime form on the tour of Sri Lanka. Thus, he is a fine addition for the Kings XI Punjab. Curran will play for the first time in the Indian Premier League.
Meanwhile, Kings XI Punjab has signed up Varun Chakravarty for a whopping amount of INR 8.4 Crores. Furthermore, Punjab has roped in players like Mohammed Shami, Nicholas Pooran, Moises Henriques and Sarfraz Khan.

On the other hand, Sam Curran will like to impress with his skills in the tournament. However, Curran is going to be available till May 1 as England players will not play in the fag end of the competition.
Kings XI Punjab hasn’t yet savoured success in the folklore of the Indian Premier League. They had a good start to the previous season. However, they could not go all the way as they lost the last six matches out of the seven matches.
Meanwhile, Kings XI Punjab had ended up as the runners-up in the 2014 season of the IPL. Punjab had lost to KKR in the final of the league.
