Kings XI Punjab (KXIP) will serve as hosting team to reigning champions Mumbai Indians (MI) in the 34th match of the Indian Premier League (IPL) 2018.

The Punjab-based franchise has thus far won five matches out of the seven they have played.

Consequently, Ravichandran Ashwin led team find themselves at the third place in the points table.

On the other hand, defending champions Indians are contemplating an early exit from the tournament. Rohit Sharma led side has won only two matches out of the eight – to find themselves in the trouble.

Meanwhile, KXIP had lost their last match against Sunrisers Hyderabad (SRH). Thus, the Men in Red will like to get back to winning ways.

Punjab team had some off-time and the players would have enjoyed the one week break in what is generally a hectic schedule in the tournament.
