Afghanistan’s prominent all-rounder Mohammad Nabi has played an impressive role in national cricket, before grabbing the eyeballs for his hard-hitting prowess and deserving results with his slow bowling.
However, on the second day of the mega-auction of the eleventh edition on Sunday (January 28) of the Indian Premier League (IPL) in Bengaluru, Sunrisers Hyderabad has shown complete faith in Nabi while roping the right-handed batter in INR 1 crore after the base price of INR 50 lakh.
In the tenth edition of the IPL, Nabi was snapped up by the Hyderabad-based outfit at the base price of INR 30 lakh.
The bid was also made by Kolkata Knight Riders before Sunrisers management on the table found the exceptional all-rounder in the fold.
Known for delivering with his cunning accuracy, the burly Nabi has worked hard on his game to deliver in a nutshell.
In 2017, Nabi played just three matches which didn’t allow him to offer much for the Orange Army.
Nabi scored just two runs but went on to collect two wickets, and this time around he would be expecting to be the regular fixture in the upcoming IPL for the Hyderabad outfit.
The 33-year-old Nabi has enough experience on his back which further saw him representing distinct Twenty20 leagues across the globe.
Recently, Nabi was the part of Australia’s Big Bash League which saw him representing Melbourne Renegades.
In seven matches for Renegades, Nabi claimed eight wickets and scored 88 runs.
In 158 T20s, the efficient bowler, Nabi bagged 180 wickets at an average of 20.67 which further saw him scoring 2,106 runs at an average of 21.27. He smashed six fifties.
In the international T20 fold, Nabi played 58 T2OIs in which he scored 876 runs and bagged 59 scalps for Afghanistan.
Nabi further couldn’t resist and took to Twitter – to express the excitement of playing for the SRH after the overall of the T20 league.
Known for scoring runs at the pace as well, Nabi has further thanked the SRH head coach and VVS Laxman including the ace off-spinner Muttiah Muralitharan
