The on-field umpire CK Nandan was hit on the head by a throw from the long-off region. The incident happened in the 95th over of Rest of India’s second innings. Both innings centurion, Hanuma Vihari pushed the ball towards the long-off region to pick up a single while facing Aditya Sarwate. However, CK Nandan turned his back towards the throw and the ball smashed on to his head.

Consequently, CK Nandan was seen in pain. The standing umpire was quickly attended by the physio and Nandan was up on his feet in no time. In fact, CK Nandan didn’t leave the field and he was able to continue with umpiring.

Meanwhile, Hanuma Vihari has continued his dream form going. The right-hander has scored two back to back hundreds in the ongoing Irani Cup between Ranji Trophy champions Vidarbha and Rest of India.

On the other side, Rest of India posted 330 in the first innings after winning the toss and electing to bat first. The greenhorn Indian Mayank Agarwal scored a good knock of 95 runs. Vihari scored 114 in the first dig, however, Rest of India lost the plot after a good start provided by Vihari and Agarwal.

The middle order could not contribute as the visitors were skittled out for 330 runs after they were 186-2 at one stage. Aditya Sarwate, who was the man of the match in the Ranji Trophy final scalped three wickets. Furthermore, Akshay Wakhare also took three wickets in the first innings.

Vidarbha scored 425 runs to take a crucial lead of 95 runs after Akshay Karnewar scored a brilliant hundred. Meanwhile, Rahul Chahar took four wickets for the Rest of India.

Hanuma Vihari is currently batting unbeaten on 153 runs with Rest of India at 298-3. Consequently, the visitors lead by a margin of 203 runs. Rest of India skipper Ajinkya Rahane also scored a good knock of 87 runs.
