Team India paceman, Jasprit Bumrah who is going to miss the first Test of the five-match Test series against England following his thumb injury, has observed the gentleman’s game at the close quarters.

The 24-year-old fast bowler Bumrah eventually rated the traditional format above all the formats and called it a paramount format in the world cricket.

However, the Ahmedabad-based bowler will be available for the selection for the second Test match which is scheduled to take place at the Home of Cricket, Lord’s.

Pertinently, the test Cricket is the best criteria to judge a temperament and skill-set of the professional player in particular.

The promising youngster Bumrah said he is not just confined to cricket but he also loves to explore the country where a pays a visit.

“You look to enjoy the country, you look to see the place. That is how you get to know about the culture of the place, and you eventually start enjoying the country. It then reflects on your performance as well,” Bumrah said in his latest interview.

 

“Whenever I go to a new country, I always plan in advance. Before visiting the country, I have a look at a few videos. What works over there. What the home team does over there. It is crucial for long tours to enjoy the country and see the places. So that’s the basic thing that I look to follow,” he said further.

Jasprit Bumrah has turned out to be an ace card for his skipper. He took 14 scalps against South Africa in three games of his debut series.

Unfortunately, Bumrah suffered a thumb injury during the recently-held Twenty20 series against Ireland at Malahide. Post-recovery, he missed limited-overs format entirely against India and now is all set to miss out on the first Test as well.

The gruelling series will commence from August 1st at Edgbaston in Birmingham.

Recalling Test Debut:

Bumrah reminisced about his Test debut against the Proteas.

“I always wanted to play Test cricket. I was happy when I finally got to play it in South Africa. The start also went well. I always loved Test cricket, and I rate it very highly,” he remarked.

 

I enjoy playing each and every format, but for me, Test cricket is at the paramount level because I feel everything is tested at that level,” he concluded.
