Laura Wolvaardt to lead strong South Africa side in Zimbabwe series
Captain Laura Wolvaardt will be available to lead the South Africa women’s national cricket team in the upcoming five-match T20I series against the Zimbabwe women’s national cricket team next month.
However, the squad has several fresh faces, with three players receiving their maiden call-up. One of the biggest names among the uncapped stars is Caitlin Wyngaard. The 21-year-old fast bowler impressed everyone with her stunning performances for the South Africa Emerging Women during their recent series against Bangladesh Emerging.

Mandla Mashimbyi excited to see how emerging stars fare in Zimbabwe
Meanwhile, the South Africa women will hold a training camp at Irene Cricket Club from September 2 to 6 before traveling to Zimbabwe on September 7 for the upcoming T20I series.
Proteas coach Mandla Mashimbyi said that many senior players are busy playing franchise cricket around the world, so the team decided to give young and talented players a chance. He is now excited to see them play at the international level.
Mandla Mashimbyi said in an official statement: “With a number of players away representing South Africa in franchise leagues across the world, we saw it fitting to select a young and ambitious squad and provide international opportunities to notable performers within the pipeline and pathway structure to the Proteas.
Nini, Nzuza, and Wyngaard are youngsters whose development we’ve kept a close eye on over the last 12-18 months, and I can’t wait to see what they will bring to the international stage.” Earlier, Manav Suthar achieves rare feat that Garry Sobers, Jasprit Bumrah never managed.
