Jemimah Rodrigues Names Her All-Time IPL XI; Opts For Four Specialist All-Rounders

Jemimah Rodrigues has been one of the most resourceful players for the Indian women’s team. Having made his debut at the age of 18, she has featured in 16 T20Is and 44 ODIs already. Jemimah Rodrigues was also part of the side that finished as runners-up in the T20 World Cup earlier this year. Like most, she has also been confined to home amid the pandemic but making the most of it.

Alongside her fellow teammate Smriti Mandhana, she serves as the host of the show Double Trouble, engaging in interesting conversations with various athletes. The 19-year old has also been active on Instagram, having words with media houses and friendly chats with her teammates.

In a Super Over Podcast with JP Duminy and Liam Flint in March, Rodrigues picked her all-time IPL XI and one of the most star-studded one at that. The top-three of her team were captains of various franchises – namely Rohit Sharma (Mumbai Indians), David Warner (Sunrisers Hyderabad), and Virat Kohli (Royal Challengers Bangalore).

While the top-three contained no real surprises, the next three comprised of Ab de Villiers, Andre Russell, and Ben Stokes. Ab de Villiers has transformed into an IPL legend, forming a formidable combination with Virat Kohli. Meanwhile, Andre Russell has been a lynchpin of the Kolkata Knight Riders since the past few seasons while Ben Stokes announced his arrival by bagging the man of the tournament award in 2017.

The 19-year old selected MS Dhoni as the captain and wicketkeeper of her team while chose Mohammad Nabi and Ravindra Jadeja as all-rounders. Both are quality spinners blessed with an ability to finish with the bat strongly. Afghanistan mystery spinner Rashid Khan was yet another spinner while Indian yorker specialist Jasprit Bumrah was the frontline pace bowler.
