Probably, Glenn Maxwell is one of the best fielders cricket has ever witnessed. He has always been athletic on the field and got the rocket-arm to deal with the run outs. Meanwhile, he gave yet another reason to love his fielding by plucking out a one-handed stunner in the ongoing JLT One-Day Cup in Australia.
The incident took place during the match between Victoria vs Western Australia. The game saw defending champions Western Australia getting knocked out of the tournament.
Peter Handscomb, Marcus Harriss deliver for Victoria:
Coming to the match report, initially, it was Victoria, who won the toss and opted to bat first. Accepting the challenge, Western Australian bowlers dented Victoria by rattling the wickets of Cameron White and Travis Dean for ten runs on the board.
However, Marcus Harris and Peter Handscomb stood firm for the team who scored 73 and 80 runs to their names, respectively. Glenn Maxwell once again failed to show his magic even after getting the platform.
Meanwhile, Nic Maddinson played beautifully to carry the burden of the team. Maddinson’s knock and the low-order blitz helped Victoria to put 332 runs on the board.
Nic Maddinson picks four-wicket haul:
In reply to the chase, Josh Inglis and Phillipe started the things well by knocking the occasional boundaries. However, none of them succeeded in converting the starts. D’Arcy Short, who is in fine nick also failed to convert his 44 into a big knock.
Despite the openers failed to carry on, the chase looked pretty much open with the run-rate being under control.
However, the sudden fall of wickets in the middle overs saw Western Australia to lose the plot on the game, eventually, getting knocked out from the JLT One-Day Cup.
