Jofra Archer will crosswords with the West Indies in an England jersey, starting from July 8. The Barbados-born fast bowler was named in the English squad after change in rules for the 2019 World Cup. He rapidly grew through the ranks for the side. Archer was born to a English father and made his intentions clear about playing for the country, taking advantage of his British passport.

Archer had represented the West Indies U-19 team. But the players for his birth-country will see him as just another Englishman in the upcoming Test series.

Jofra Archer is English now, Kemar Roach said the same thing: Jason Holder

West Indies captain Jason Holder is friends with Jofra Archer off the field but he is just another English player for him. Holder said even his premier fast bowler Kemar Roach has the same opinion about the Barbadian. Holder also mentioned that he has crossed ‘that line’ to become an English now.

“Archer is English now. I think Kemar Roach had an interview yesterday and he spoke about the same thing,” Holder said on the show Good Morning Britain.

“You know we are friends off the field but when we cross that line you just see him as another Englishman. I am sure even he must be looking to knock our heads off,” he added.

Archer has picked up 30 wickets in Tests, 23 in ODIs and two in the shortest format of the game. He is also looked as the future of English fast bowling after veteran Stuart Broad and James Anderson retire.
