Kamran Akmal was once a regular for the Pakistan side. But he has lost his place to Sarfaraz Ahmed in the recent years and continues to be neglected from the side. However, at his best, Kamral Akmal had contributed to the fore for the Pakistan side and was also crucial behind the stumps.

In his absence from the international setup, Kamral Akmal has been a regular for Pakistan Super League (PSL). Akmal, however, has a solid average in Tests and ODI cricket. He has scored 2684 Test runs at an average of 30.79 and 3236 runs in ODIs at an average of 26.09.

Kamran Akmal: couple of coaches did not like me which is why I remained on the sidelines

Kamran Akmal made his last international appearance in 2017. Opening up on the ignorance from the cricket board, he said that there have been times when coaches did not like him and he had to sit out. He also said that it is unfair to keep him out especially from the Test and T20I set up.

“I have been performing in domestic cricket and PSL during the last five years but despite that I have not been given a chance to play for Pakistan. In the recent past, couple of coaches did not like me which is why I remained on the sidelines,” Kamran said on the ‘Inside Out’ show on Cricket Pakistan.

“It’s unfair to keep me out of the Test and T20I side, especially, because I can play solely as a batsman. If Matthew Wade can make a comeback with an average of 18-20, why not me who averages nearly 60.”

The right-handed batsman averages 21 in the shortest format.
