India skipper Virat Kohli on September 12 (Thursday) added one more feather to his illustrated career when Delhi and District Cricket Association (DDCA) unveiled one the stands in his name. Kohli’s teammates and many former cricketer and coaches graced the event. Kapil Dev, who was also present at the event lavishly praised Kohli saying that he has taken the game to a whole new level.

Meanwhile, Virat Kohli has been a great servant for Indian cricket. Since making his debut, he has taken batting to a whole new level and has led his country from the front. Kohli is currently the top-ranked ODI batsman and occupies the second spot in Tests only after Steve Smith.

India’s World Cup-winning skipper Kapil Dev lauded that talismanic run-scorer while speaking at the event. He said that Virat Kohli has taken the game to a whole new level and his service to India cricket is unparallel.

“Kohli has to go a long way. It is not right to talk about him in the middle of his career. But what he has given to us is unparallel. Never expected that somebody can come close to Sachin Tendulkar whom we think is the ultimate but Kohli has taken the game to a different level,” Dev told reporters.

Virat Kohli has broken many records earlier held by Sachin Tendulkar. The India skipper is in line to break leapfrog Tendulkar’s 49 ODI centuries which many thought was impossible to break. Kohli currently has 43 ODI tons to his name and with the amount of cricket left in him, he will easily cross the landmark figure.

Along with unveiling Virat Kohli stand, DDCA also renamed the Feroz Shah Kotla Stadium in memory of the late politician-cum-sports-administrator during DDCA’s Annual Awards function.
