India’s legendary World Cup-winning captain Kapil Dev has cited the reason as to why team India don’t play the spin duo of Kuldeep Yadav and Yuzvendra Chahal together. The duo is fondly known as ‘KulCha’. Meanwhile, India are currently playing a bilateral series on Kiwis shores.

While India clean swept the Kiwis 5-0 in T20Is, the Black Caps bounced back in the ODIs and won the series by winning the first two games of the three-match series.

In the first game of the ODI series, team India decided to go with Kuldeep Yadav in the final eleven benching Yuzvendra Chahal. Kuldeep Yadav proved to be the second-costliest bowler on the night giving away 84 runs in 10 overs.

India replaced him with Chahal in the second ODI and Chahal clinched three wickets in the game.

However, his valiant efforts could not win the game for India but he booked a spot in the final eleven for the last game of the series.

Kapil Dev Reveals The Reason Behin KulCha Not Playing Together:

Now, former Indian captain, Dev has come up with the reason as to why Kuldeep and Chahal don’t play together for India.

“If you play two specialist spinners then it weakens your batting a bit. Having said that, batting really shouldn’t be a problem for India but when need arises Jadeja can do the job with the bat and his form of late has been terrific,” Kapil Dev said while speaking to ABP News.

“Jadeja’s batting and fielding is so good that if sometimes he doesn’t succeed with the ball that goes unnoticed. That’s where he scores better than the other spinners,” Kapil added.

India are currently playing Ravindra Jadeja as an all-rounder in the limited-overs format. The prime reason behind this is Hardik Pandya’s absence. Pandya is a crucial player for Team India.

However, he is away from the team because of a lower-back injury which he picked during the World Cup last year. Pandya comes in as a handy all-rounder as he is brilliant with the bat and bowl and when he returns to the team, India can go with one more specialist bowler.
