Keaton Jennings Depart Soon After Lunch

The much-awaited Test battle between England and India finally kicked off today at Birmingham. The skipper of England, Joe Root decided while winning the toss chose to bat first. It proved a balanced decision for both the teams. Virat Kohli however mentioned in the toss that he would have opted for bowling due to forecast conditions.
England is continuously struggling to provide an excellent partner to Alastair Cook.

This time, it was Keaton Jennings who joined the crease at another hand. The duo fought at the begging with the Indian pace attack.

It was once again Ishant Sharma who let England openers to turn on a ‘hip-hop’ mode. Keaton Jennings handed over an easy catch to Ajinkya Rahane who was standing at the second slip.

However, slip and drop stories seems to have an everlasting relationship with India now. Ajinkya Rahane failed to garner and wasted an easy chance. This drop chance fumed Ishant Sharma who produced this breakthrough but did not succeed at the end.

Ash added the miseries of Cook

Virat Kohli made an exciting decision in 7th over. He introduced Ravichandran Ashwin from another end. Ashwin gave a breakthrough in his just second over in the form of Alastair Cook. The left-handed batsman scored mere 13 before Ashwin castled him. It was Joe Root, the English skipper who came in to join the crease along with Jennings

Till lunch procession

England was on 83 for one till the procession of lunch took place. It was a matter of the first ball after lunch when Mohammed Shami provides the breakthrough. Keaton Jennings departs for 42.
