Former England international, Kevin Pietersen named Indian batting maestros Virat Kohli and Sachin Tendulkar in his list of top five batsmen to have played alongside him in his career.
The other three greats in his lineup were Protean all-rounder Jacques Kallis, West Indian southpaw Chris Gayle and former Australian captain Ricky Ponting. However, he included AB de Villiers and Virat Kohli in a combined slot.

While enlisting Kallis, KP applauded his batting technique as well as his all-round contribution in the field, whereas, he tagged Ponting as ‘superstar’.
“Techniquewise-unbelievable, batted for hours with the bat in his hand, to bowl as many overs as he did and also stood at the second slip”, said Kevin Pietersen in the latest video released by cricket.co.au.
“Another one, phenomenal. I’ve said enough about Punter. Superstar” claimed KP while describing Ricky Ponting.
Out of the hundred centuries from Sachin Tendulkar, KP singled out the one at Chennai back in 2008 while chasing a monumental target, as the most special one he has ever seen from the Master Blaster.
“Sachin Tendulkar. I mean that century he scored against us at Chennai, all odds were against India. And he scored that fourth innings hundred while I was the captain. The way he was able to manipulate the bowl, punch the ball with the heavy bat, just phenomenal,” described Pietersen.
Next on his list of top five batsmen was the West Indian opener, Chris Gayle. KP admired Gayle’s ability to hit the ball long and hard, calling it out of the world.
“Another guy, Chris Gayle. How hard he hits the ball, and how far he does the same, is just out of the world.”
To conclude the list, the English batsman rated Indian captain Virat Kohli and Mr. 360, AB de Villiers as the greatest batsman in modern cricket. KP lauded the two RCB batsmen ability to play all around the field.
“Kohli and De Villiers, I put them into probably a bracket of their own, the way that they are now. I think they epitomize the modern day 360-degree play. The ability to play from fine 3rd man region all the way to fine leg. They hit most balls wherever they want to score, its as good as it gets,” concluded <<!---->s<!---->t<!---->r<!---->o<!---->n<!---->g<!---->><!---->K<!---->e<!---->v<!---->i<!---->n<!----> <!---->P<!---->i<!---->e<!---->t<!---->e<!---->r<!---->s<!---->e<!---->n<!----><<!---->/<!---->s<!---->t<!---->r<!---->o<!---->n<!---->g<!---->>.
