It was in the second season that Kevin Pietersen associated himself with the Indian Premier League (IPL). Along with fellow English teammate Andrew Flintoff, Pietersen became the most expensive player in the auction held ahead of the tournament. After playing for Royal Challengers Bangalore in his first edition, he also played for Delhi Daredevils, Sunrisers Hyderabad, and Rising Pune Supergiants. And during a conversation, Pietersen spoke about his relations with players like Virender Sehwag and Virat Kohli.

As part of the cash-rich league across four franchises, the South African-born shared cordial relations with plenty of Indian players. Earlier, he conceded that he knew current Indian captain Virat Kohli would be a massive figure in the sport. Pietersen stated that a combination of determination, work ethic, learning process, and approach was a testament that he was destined for greatness.

The two greats of the respective eras were part of RCB in 2009 and 2010. Pietersen recalled those days that he used to pull Kohli’s leg by calling him chubby. He further stated that the age difference between them didn’t stop sharing a great bond.
Pietersen calls Virender Sehwag a superstar of the game:

The 39-year old conceded that his most fun-filled experiences on the cricket field are with Virender Sehwag. He spoke about how he used to love his fearless attitude, which was the best thing about him. The thing which Pietersen loved the most is how Sehwag used to sing songs as the bowlers began their run-up and used to take them to the cleaners with ease. KP labelled him a complete superstar of the sport.
