The 34-year-old will also be aiming for a major milestone, as he is just 54 runs away from becoming the first player to achieve 10,000 runs in T20 cricket.

Apart from that, Rohit is five boundaries short of scoring 500 fours in the IPL and one short of 400 fours for Mumbai.

Rohit began the season with a solid 32-ball 41 against Delhi Capitals, but he was removed for a low score of 10 against Rajasthan Royals.

Apart from Rohit, Virat Kohli is the only other Indian to have done so. In all contests combined, the former Royal Challengers Bangalore skipper has amassed 10,331 runs in the shortest version of the game.

Playing in Mumbai isn’t entirely advantageous: Rohit Sharma

The five-time winners would not benefit by playing their league matches in Mumbai, as per the MI captain.

“When it comes to home advantage, I believe there aren’t many guys from Mumbai save myself and Surya. As I already stated, this is a relatively new team, and few of these players have played in the climatic circumstances of Mumbai. They had to have played a few games, but not many.”

“As a result, I don’t think it’s a clear advantage. Yes, we have been practicing for quite some time in Mumbai. However, many of these men have played a lot of games “Rohit Sharma remarked.

Wankhede Stadium, Barbourne Stadium in Mumbai, Dr. DY Patil Stadium in Navi Mumbai, and MCA International Stadium in Pune are hosting IPL 2022 matches.
