5 Indian Players Who Shined on Their International Debut in England

Kuldeep Yadav could not have announced his arrival in England on a better note. Playing his first game in the English conditions, the chinaman spinner blew away red-hot England batsmen in the first T20I on Tuesday. The left-arm spinner picked up his maiden five-haul in T20Is to derail the English innings.

Asked to bat first, the hosts were comfortably placed at 95 for 1 before Kuldeep began his demolition job. After conceding just 5 runs in his first over, he dismissed the dangerous Alex Hales in his following over. The best, however, was yet to come. On the very first ball of his third over, he sent back England skipper Eoin Morgan for just 7. On the third and fourth delivery, he dismissed Jonny Bairstow and Joe Root for ducks to reduce England to 107 for 5 from 95 for 1. What was worth noticing that Kuldeep had both Bairstow and Root stumped on a pitch which looked like a good batting track.

In the fourth over, he dismissed a well-settled Jos Buttler for 69 to end England’s slim hopes of recovering and finishing strongly. He finished the game with stunning figures of 5 for 24 as England managed just 159 for 8.

Meanwhile, former England skipper Michale Vaughan seems to have been impressed by Kuldeep’s exploits as he made it clear that he would love to see the chinaman spinner playing Test cricket. He posted a couple of tweets, praising the Indian bowling lineup and Kuldeep.

“Kuldeep Yadav is causing absolutely chaos ……. The Indians are a little bit better than the Aussies …….”

In another tweet, he wrote:

“If I was India i would be making sure Kuldeep Yadav is apart of the Test squad ……. “

An avid cricket lover, I just love this game more than anything. Writing about cricket keeps me closer to the game.
