List Of India’s Standby Players For ICC World Cup 2019
Team India will be one of the favourites for the forthcoming World Cup. The Men in Blue have dominated the ODIs since the conclusion of the last World Cup in 2015. In fact, India is the most successful team since the last World Cup with 55 wins in ODIs. Unsurprisingly, the expectations are sky high from Virat Kohli & Co. as they look to bring the World Cup home.
India’s record in England is quite impressive. This was the very country where it had won its first-ever World Cup in 1983. The track record in this decade is even more impressive as far as the ICC tournaments are concerned. In 2013, India won the Champions Trophy before making it to the final of the same competition four years later. Currently the second-best ODI side in the world, India have a golden opportunity of becoming only the second team after Australia to win the World Cup thrice.
The two-time winners, nonetheless, have named a strong side for the tournament. Virat Kohli will lead the side which will have the likes of Shikhar Dhawan, MS Dhoni, Rohit Sharma, Kedar Jadhav, Dinesh Karthik and KL Rahul among batsmen. Vijay Shankar and Hardik Pandya are the two fast-bowling allrounders in the team while Ravindra Jadeja is the spin-bowling allrounder. Mohammed Shami, Jasprit Bumrah and Bhuvneshwar Kumar form the pace department while Kuldeep Yadav and Yuzvendra Chahal are the frontline spinners.

Along with these 15 men, India have also named five standby players who will make it to the squad if any of the player in the main squad is being ruled out due to injury or any other reason. The five players are – Rishabh Pant, Ambati Rayudu, Ishant Sharma, Navdeep Saini and Axar Patel.
Not only that, India will also send some pacers along with the main team to England to provide quality practise to the players. Khaleel Ahmed, Avesh Khan, Deepak Chahar and Navdeep Saini will be travelling with the team purely as net bowlers.
