What was looking like a steady start for India turned out to a poor one in a matter of few minutes as India lost two quick on consecutive deliveries to find themselves firmly on the backfoot in the ongoing second Test against South Africa in Centurion.

Kohli & Co. did not take long to take the remaining four South African wickets on day two, folding up the Proteas for 335 after they started the day on 269 for 6. Murali Vijay and KL Rahul then started the proceedings on a cautious note. But just when it looked like the openers have settled down, Rahul offered a return catch to Morne Morkel who took a brilliant reflex catch to end the 28-run stand. And on the very next delivery, India suffered a huge blow when their batting mainstay Cheteshwar Pujara was run-out for a duck.

Facing his first ball, Pujara flicked one from Morkel to his right at mid-on and set off for the single immediately. However, his partner Murali Vijay looked hesitant but eventually decided to steal the single. But Vijay’s hesitancy put off Pujara and even though he made a desperate dive to make his ground, he was caught well short off his crease courtesy of a bullet throw from debutant Lungi Ngidi.  With just one stump to hit at, Ngidi quickly pounced on the ball to hit bull’s eye.

Here is a clip of that wicket:
