Sri Lanka’s southpaw spinner Malinda Pushpakumara has claimed all ten wickets in an innings. The left-hander bagged all the ten wickets while playing for Colombo Cricket Club in the match against Saracens Sports Club.

Malinda scalped brilliant figures of 10-37 in 18.4 overs as breathed down the neck of the opposition batsmen. In fact, Saracens Sports Club were bundled out for paltry 113 runs as his team won by a gargantuan margin of 235 runs.

Pushpakumara continues to impress.

The match was played at Moratuwa as Malinda Pushpakumara didn’t let the opposition batsmen off the hook. The left-handed spinner has been in fine form in the recent past and this performance will definitely give him a shot in the arm. In fact, he scalped 6-73 in the first essay and backed it with another staggering performance in the second dig.

Malinda Pushpakumara is the first bowler to bag all the ten wickets since Proteas bowler Mario Olivier took all ten wickets in an innings back in December 2007.

He had done well against England.

Pushpakumara had scalped nine wickets in the two Test matches he had played against England in the home series. He had also taken a five-wicket haul of 5-92 and had bowled with aplomb. However, Sri Lanka had gone on to lose the Test series by 3-0.

Meanwhile, India’s spinner Anil Kumble and England’s Jim Laker are only two players who have taken ten wickets at International level.

Laker took 19 Australian wickets in 1956 and scalped 10-53 which are the best bowling figures till date at the topmost level. Anil Kumble came up with the match-winning performance of 10-74 while playing against arch-rivals Pakistan in Delhi.
