Manager Pat Howard Set to Quit his Service for Cricket Australia

Cricket Australia struck with yet another major blow, as their most influential official, Pat Howard has decided to call it quits. The highly qualified and the most impactful person in the Cricket Australia agreed to step down from his post after the conclusion of the upcoming Ashes in 2019.

Officially, his contract with Cricket Australia will end in 2019. During the course, the respective board will review the performances before re-signing them for the extension. However, Pat Howard decided against to it.

Even before the review part, he decided to call curtains on his service for Cricket Australia. He started his career by taking the role of manager of team performance in 2011. Later, he has become part of many high’s and lows of the Australian team.

Meanwhile, he is well-known for his never-give-up attitude. Of late, the story revolved that Pat Howard’s winning mentality also played a role in the leadership group involving in the ball-tampering saga.

Surprisingly, the board asked him to give the review by sending him to South Africa during the ruckus. It is learnt that it would be the prime aspect on the board when his performance is reviewed.

“The decision is his own and is no way connected to the reviews to be released on Monday. A recruitment process will be decided and announced in due course, but there is plenty of time for this to be considered,” CA Spokesperson quoted.

However, the departure of Pat Howard might be a massive blow for the board. Despite them missing his services, by the time of his exclusion, Cricket Australia would see the return of Steven Smith and David Warner.
