Manish Pandey was the part of the Indian squad in the Asia Cup 2018 and will take over the responsibility as soon as he joins the state team, Karnataka.

However, India batsman, Manish Pandey replaces Vinay Kumar as Karnataka captain for the remaining four matches of the Vijay Hazare Trophy 2018. He will take over the duties as soon as possible.

Manish Pandey came back from a massive winning campaign in the Asia Cup 2018 beating Bangladesh in the finals by three wickets. However, Karnataka already lost three of its four matches in the tournament so far. Another loss against Vidarbha on September 30 (Sunday) will put them out of the competition. Moreover, Pandey also recently captained India B in the Quadrangular Series involving Australia A and South Africa A.

“We wanted to build a team for the future,” said KSCA Secretary R. Sudhakar Rao. “This is only for the Vijay Hazare Trophy.” The selectors wanted to see how he does.

Moreover, wicketkeeper-batsman, C.M. Gautam and all-rounder, Stuart Binny have also been left out. Rao says the decision has been made considering the poor form of both the players. He also added both of them must take a break from the regular cricket and gain some way for the future stars.

Interestingly, Mayank Agarwal, Karun Nair, and Prasidh Krishna are the part of  Board President’s team that will take on the Windies.
