Former South African wicket-keeper and the current coach of the Proteas, Mark Boucher has expressed his views on the Kagiso Rabada incident. Rabada was recently banned by the ICC for One Test as he was found guilty of breaching the Code of Conduct. His aggressive celebration after clinching Joe Root’s wicket in the third Test of the ongoing series between England and South Africa earned him the ban. He has also been fined 15% of the match fee by the match referee and has earned a demerit point too.

This took Rabada to four demerit points that lead to ban of one Test, two ODIs, or four T20Is whichever comes first. Hence, the 24-year-old fast bowler will miss the fourth Test in Johannesburg. Rabada has received criticism from cricket experts all-round the globe. However, Coach Mark Boucher seems to have spoken against the traditional notion.

The Proteas are currently hosting England at home soil. The Englishmen will play a total of 6 Tests, 5 ODIs, and 3 T20Is during the tour. Out of the two test matches played so far, South Africa has won one and lost one. The Rabada incident took place in the ongoing third Test.

While Rabada has been criticized by some, a few have spoken in his favor as well. Michael Vaughan, Brett Lee, and Nasser Hussain are among the legends to have spoken in his favor. The Rabada incident took place while England were batting in their first innings of the third test after bowling out the Proteas for 72 runs in their first innings. Rabada dismissed Root with an absolute peach of a delivery.
