Former Australian batsman Michael Hussey has selected his Australia’s squad for the forthcoming ICC World Cup 2019 set to be played in England and Wales. Australia isn’t in the best of forms in the recent past as they have lost 13 out of their last 16 matches. Thus, the defending champions will need to turn the tables in the upcoming ODI showpiece.

In fact, it would be a mistake to rule out Australia from the World Cup. They have been a champion side and they would like to go all the way in the quadrennial event. Furthermore, Steven Smith and David Warner are going to return to Australia’s squad, which will add solidarity to the squad.

On the other hand, Australia has a potent bowling line-up. Pat Cummins, Mitchell Starc and Josh Hazlewood are one of the best in the business and they would like to be at the top of their game in the coveted tournament. However, the pace troika hasn’t played a lot of white ball format in the recent past, which could be their chunk in the armour.

Australia will like to hit the ground running in the World Cup. They have 10 ODI matches before the big ticket tourney and they would like to cover their bases. Moreover, one more Achilles Heel in Australia’s squad is the dismal form of Aaron Finch.

The Australian captain hasn’t been at his best and would like to come out of his lean patch. Australia will begin their World Cup campaign against Afghanistan on June 1 at Bristol Cricket Ground.
