Australia’s former speedster Michael Kasprowicz has heaped praise on the leadership of Indian skipper Virat Kohli. Kohli has led the team with aplomb and the results are the testimony of the fact. India is the number one side in the Test rankings and they are at the second place in the ODI rankings. In fact, Virat Kohli has also instilled the fitness habits in the team.

Virat Kohli has worked hard on his fitness and he has reaped fruits for the same. Thus, the rest of the team has also followed their captain footsteps. Kohli likes to lead in an aggressive manner and there is no negative bone in his body. In fact, Michael Kasprowicz compared the captaincy of Virat Kohli with great Australian captain Steve Waugh.

Kohli has instilled the confidence in his lads.

“He leads by example, motivates his men, drives them hard. Kohli’s methods remind me of Steve Waugh,” Kasprowicz said as quoted by Sportstar.

The former Australian pacer also drew comparisons between the balance of Sachin Tendulkar and Virat Kohli. Kasprowicz believes Kohli has a similar balance as Tendulkar.

“Tendulkar was so balanced. He was neither stretched forward fully nor was completely back. I can see a similar balance in Kohli.”

On the other hand, India was able to clinch their maiden Test series on the Australian soil. Cheteshwar Pujara was the hero of the four-match series as the talisman batsman scored 521 runs and faced 1258 balls in the series.

Pujara was at his best.

“He was excellent with shot selection and wore down the attack. There were no cover-drives on the up from him.”

Furthermore, Jasprit Bumrah was the star of the show with the ball as he scalped 21 wickets in the four-match series. Bumrah was right on the money in the Test series and breathed down the neck of the Australian batsmen.

Bumrah breathed down the neck of the Australian batsmen.

“He doesn’t give batsmen time. He has a short run-up, generates pace, extracts bounce and is back for the next delivery before the batsman can really settle in his stance. He hurries them up. Bumrah has an unusual action but his seam position is so good.”

On the other hand, Pat Cummins has been a big positive for the Australian side. Cummins has bowled with fire and he has a compact batting technique. The fiery pacer was the pick of the Australian fast bowlers in the series against Australia.

“He is not only a future Australian star all-rounder but also a future leader in the Australian team.”

Meanwhile, India is currently locking horns with New Zealand. Australia is taking on Sri Lanka in the second Test match after winning the first by an innings and 40 innings.
