Finally, at last, one of the major controversies in Pakistan Cricket has been resolved. The spat between Mohammad Hafeez and Mickey Arthur has been a sense of worry in the recent past. However, it was finally cleared, as the head coach conveyed his apology to Mohammad Hafeez.
It is learned Mickey Arthur has made his way to Mohammad Hafeez in the dressing room and conveyed his sorry for his previous statement. Further, he corrected his mistake by saying Pakistan Cricket still needs the services of Mohammad Hafeez across the formats.
“I admit that I was wrong about you, so I apologise and assure you this will not happen again,” a source quoted Arthur. “You are still very useful for the team.”
In Case You Don’t Know:
Earlier, there was a spat between the selectors and the head coach Mickey Arthur, who ignored the selection of Mohammad Hafeez in the Pakistan side. Subsequently, PCB removed Hafeez from the squad for Asia Cup 2018, where the team performed poorly.
The reports from Pakistan media also cited former skipper Misbah Ul Haq is behind the Mickey Arthur’s plan of removing Hafeez from the ODI format of the game. It also played an instrumental role in PCB accepting Hafeez’s snub.
However, they called him back for the Test matches against Australia followed by the T20I series as well. Now, he was also picked for ODI matches against the Kiwis and is pretty much in the scheme for ICC World Cup 2019.
All in all, it seems like things have been sorted out in Pakistan Cricket. Now, it is all up to Mohammad Hafeez to stable his place in the side.
