Australian left-arm pacer Mitchell Starc found a new franchise in the IPL Auctions for the 11th season and will play for the two tie champions Kolkata Knight Riders in the upcoming season of the tournament. He was bought by the KKR at a whopping price of Rs 9.4 crores and will be seen donning the purple gold jersey for the first time in his IPL career.

The official Twitter handle of Kolkata Knight Riders shared a video where Starc is seen thanking Kolkata for getting him on board. He further said that he was looking forward to playing with the Kolkata Knight Riders unit. The left-arm pacer has been a sensational performer for the Aussies across all three formats of the game in the last three years or so, and hence he was a hot pick in the auctions.

RTM was available for the Royal Challengers Bangalore, but they decided to go against it as the bowler is pretty much injury prone and like last year he has a chance to pull out from the tournament at the last stage. There is no doubt about the fact that Kolkata will want him to be fit and raring to go ahead of the tournament.

His lethal inswinging Yorkers makes Starc a very special bowler and his ability to swing the ball both ways and unleash the toe-crushing Yorker sets him apart from his peers.
