That Sachin Tendulkar is a foodie should not come as a surprise to anyone. Sachin has time and again, reiterated his love for food, and one shouldn’t really be shocked hearing former Bangladesh batsman Mohammad Ashraful reveal that the Master Blaster ate every item that the formers mother had cooked during Sachin’s visit at his residence.

For Ashraful, it was a fanboy moment. After all, he had fallen in love with the game after seeing Sachin Tendulkar smoke bowling attacks during the 1998 Independence Cup where Ashraful was working as a ‘ball boy’

Ashraful had also clicked pictures with the Master Blaster back then, and years later when he showed him the same, the former Bangladesh captain revealed that Sachin was left surprised.

Ashraful made these revelations during a Youtube Live session with renowned journalist Noman Mohammad.

“Believe me, Sachin ate all the items my mother cooked. Then he also ate a lot of yogurt and sweets. I couldn’t ask Sachin how he could eat so much,” said Ashraful during the interaction as quoted by The Cricket Times.

Ashraful revealed at one point Tendulkar himself said, “I eat less most of the time. I eat a loaf of vegetables. But sometimes I eat. I eat as much as I can on the day when I wish to eat,

Meanwhile, Ashraful was recently in the news for donating his three-month salary to the COVID-19 relief fund. Commenting on the game, Ashraful said that everyone should come forward in these times of distress to ensure that the country does not go through the same situation again.

“I think at this point in time; everyone should come forward. Our country doesn’t go through this sort of situation all the time. I have also donated taka 85,000, my three months’ salary, to the needy if I can bring a smile to them in crisis,” Ashraful added.

Ashraful was one of the shining lights of Bangladesh cricket in the early 2000s but his tryst with match-fixing led to his downfall in 2013. Following his admission, Ashraful was banned for a period of eight years. The sentence was then reduced to five years and post the culmination of the ban he continues to play domestic cricket even though his international career is all but over.
