Out of favour India international, Mohammad Kaif recently opened up being called as a ‘bus driver’ by Nasser Hussain.
The incident took place sixteen years back during the famous Indian win in the Natwest Trophy final at Lord’s.
The name of Mohammad Kaif and Yuvraj Singh emerged into the international scene with the help of their epic partnership at the Lord’s.
Their partnership took India to a historical win, chasing a target of 326 against Nasser Hussain-led England side.

Captain of the Indian side, Sourav Ganguly, set it up for his team with his knock of 60 off 43 balls. The match is also well remembered for Ganguly’s topless celebrations in the balcony of Lord’s post-victory.

“@MohammadKaif Hi kaif, what you and Yuvi were talking during Natwest Final? Was their any sledging from English players ?#AskKaif,” asked a person on Twitter.

To which, Kaif made the accusation on the Englishmen. “Yes, Nasser Hussain actually called me a Bus driver 🙂 was good to take them for a ride !” replied Kaif.

The Sky Sports broadcaster and analyst has had a rough relationship with the Indians. During the One day series between India and England a decade after the incident, Hussain called some of the Indian players as donkeys.
“I would say the difference between the two sides is the fielding. England is an all-round a good fielding side. I do believe that India have few…3 or 4 very good fielders and one or two donkeys in the field still,” commented Hussain during the match.
He also involved himself in a verbal duel with Ravi Shastri during the same tour. Shastri accused Nasser of being jealous about Indian cricket.
